Old French Mechnical Drawings

Hi, I'm Jay.

I'm working on a project in which I am responsible for converting old (circa 1950-1970) French "blue-print" machine drawings into English in modern computerized drawings.

Most words I have been able to figure out with the help of google, but there are a few abbreviations that I'm stuck on.

The current elusive abbreviation is PM after a dimension number, for example  <---14.6±0.1 PM--->  I might have guessed before or after any coatings, but there are no coatings called out.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Jay

Are you certain it is written with both P and M in capital letters ?

There are 2 dimension units using both P and M....but they are Pm and pm.

Pm = Pétamètre, une unité de mesure valant 10^15 mètres
pm = picomètre, une unité de mesure valant 10^−12 mètre (±computer component size)

one very big, the other very small...
Hope that helps,
Matthieu
