Hi all,

  I encountered this sentence:

"Je ne refuse pas davantage l'exigence de la qualité dans le son comme dans la composition : l'agressivité et la provocation, le bricolage et la poudre aux yeux ne sont que de maigres et innocents palliatifs."

Here I got stuck at the word "poudre", which in this case cannot be translated as "powder" or "dust". It must be something like "deception" or "bluff". Perhaps some of you know a better option?

Oh, I missed the words "eux yeux". Now I know the meaning. Don't bother.
